This morning I did something I swore I would never do. Not just that, something I said I couldn’t do! I…. Went to the gym at 6:30am! *cue ominous music*
I have actually reached a point in my fitness/happiness journey that I didn’t want to miss a social event after work or miss a workout for the week. My only solution was a morning workout. So yesterday I signed up for a 6:45am spin class.
I woke up at 5:40, but stayed in bed until my 6am alarm. I packed everything the night before and laid out my gym clothes. I even put the majority of my smoothie contents into one container so that I could make a quicker smoothie to put in an insulated water bottle to drink after class.
Within 20 minutes (no makeup), I was out the door and walking to the gym. I got to the class and it was a huge man who resembled a drill sergeant. This dude was so intent on “inspiring” us, and he scared me so much that I didn’t dare to not listen to his speed instructions…
By the end of my 45 minute class I was absolutely drenched in sweat. Good thing I still had an hour to shower and get ready for work.
Moral of my tale: I actually liked working out in the morning. Something I thought I couldn’t do/would hate wound up being enjoyable. I plan to make this more regular, especially since the gym was practically empty!!
Push yourself, people. You can do it!
