We’ve all heard the warnings. “Sitting all day can kill you!!!” But, with the majority of working America sitting at a desk all day what are we to do?
You could get a standing desk. But those are quite expensive and your manager probably needs to approve that first. You could pace around while on conference calls- which is not hard to do but eventually people start to stare while your running laps around the office perimeter.
I’m someone who NEEDS to keep moving but I also need to be at a desk 8 hours a day minimum. So what did I choose to do? I bought a desk bike!
For a whopping $35, I can keep moving at my desk without anyone really knowing. This model is super quiet and while I wouldn’t call it an intense workout, it definitely does the trick. And bonus! My Fitbit registers each rotation as a step! Score!
Life may throw curveballs at you on your health journey, but there are such simple work-arounds that can get you towards your goals. You just have to be creative!
