I went to the gym with Anthony this past Saturday, and he walked me through a super intense leg day. It’s been months side I’ve had a gym membership (I wanted to save some money), so my legs are no longer used to bar squats, leg presses, and much equipment in general. Needless to say, it’s 2 days past this epic leg day and I’m still struggling to walk. BUT I was able to keep up with him, so I’m pretty darn proud of myself!
I took a rest day yesterday and didn’t really leave the couch. The slow cooker spaghetti squash and meatballs we had for dinner was an especially good idea, since I didn’t have to stand much to baby this meal (yay slow cookers!). Anthony couldn’t stop laughing at how sore I was. Trust me, it was comical for someone who does work out often.
I really didn’t want to take a second rest day today but my legs are STILL on fire. So it was obviously an arm day for me. When Anthony and I moved in together he brought a small weight set, which I have since taken over…. Great for arm days!
Here’s the link to today’s arm workout via Pumps & Iron (another Pinterest find!).
*Side rant: Ladies, don’t be afraid of weights! They make it so you can spend less time working out, but you get BETTER results! And none of those 5 pound weights… You are stronger than you think!*
I also continued my headstand practice today. My ultimate goal is to to a handstand, but I’m working my way up. Here’s my handstand plan:
- First, get my tripod headstand back. I was able to do these easily when I was a dancer. This will get my core strength and balance back.
- Then a headstand that you have to kick up to get into.
- Forearm balance.
What fitness goal do you have that you are working on?
